Just keep inviting your friend to do things, was the best for me. For weeks I couldn’t do anything, and had to turn down so many invites that when I was a little better, I wasn’t invited anymore. I cancelled so many plans, I started just not making them anymore. If they have good days and bad days, you might try inviting them the day of. Understand maybe they will want to leave early and let them know it’s okay. And maybe they will seem like they’re having a terrible time — but it might be way better for them than what their mood was before. Just be accommodating and discrete. If they don’t bring it up, you don’t need to talk about it, honestly.
