[ExI] How vulnerable is the world?

Since at least the French Revolution, the Academy has been consistently and
ceaselessly warning us that unless they are given complete totalitarian
autocratic control over all of human civilization, complete destruction is
inevitable and imminent.

Ironically, the closest humanity has come to complete destruction during
the last few centuries is when significant groups of people have listened
to them.
