Someone should tell the medical establishment that: they could save a
fortune on surgical masks. (Yeah, I get that they're designed for the
purpose and that compliance is near 100%. We could have designed pandemic
masks, too.) And even if masks don't work well, the burden of wearing one
is small enough that I really don't understand why people are rabidly
opposed to them.

Yeah. Assuming that mask wearing is statistically better where there are
mandates is probably iffy.
