Two possibilities: things are completely determined; they are not. If you
believe the first one and do nothing to avoid danger and your belief is
wrong, then you increase the probability of harm to yourself. If you
believe the second one and you are wrong, there is no harm to you that
comes out of it. This is similar to Pascal’s wager.
