Only in the short term. As spammers adjust, the exploits they use will get
pointed out, and the algorithm fixed. It's an arms race, but it winds up
with better filters in the end. Further, it reduces the ranks of the
spammers over time since most spammers' entire point is to do their job
with a minimum of resources.
It's kind of like why open source software that's been well-known for a
while is more trustable from a security point of view: rather than hope the
proprietary software developers have fixed every problem behind closed
doors (which they probably haven't), you can see for yourself if there
remain any flaws, and when flaws do come up, they can be fixed faster (e.g.
by outside parties who ran into the problem and thus are quite familiar
with what it is and its context).
