For future astronauts, as well as muscle weakness, there is also bone strength loss to contend with. It may be that 'hibernating' astronauts would have to be maintained in an artificial gravity module rotating around the spaceship.

Hi BillK, it isn't clear to me that hibernating astronauts would need a gravity module, but it is certainly plausible. If so, it doesn't need to be anything elaborate. You have an artificial gravity module in your own home, capable of a coupla hundred gees: your washing machine.
