And I would feel confident that choice is correct (for me)

The only usefulness I see in sharing that information would be around donor
matching close family members... but even that usefulness is waning as
medical technology improves.

As far as stolen may be a concern it has little bearing on that person's
life today.  Until they give you some indication that question needs an
answer, you should not allow the answer to beg the question.
