There is nothing ambiguous in what we are saying. I have tried to use your
terminology to distinguish red from redness. It is a cute terminology but
really red and redness are the same in everyday language. Red doesn't
really define the frequency range because we have Hz to define frequency in
physics. But if you mean that you want to distinguish between red= a
particular range of light frequencies and redness = perception of red I can
do that just to help communication and in a sense make you happy.

perceiving redness and the implied association (nonverbal) is that there is
an external object that emits or reflects light in a given frequency range
because that is the normal association our perception system made over time
(via evolution and personal experience). Evidently, this is a false
assessment from the sensory system given in reality the strawberries do not
emit this type of light. It is an illusion.

*What is the quality *
There is no quality. You refused to define what quality means. I think you
are trying to ask or actually even better you should rephrase this question
as "what is happening in the brain that makes it produce this sensation of
redness even in the absence of real physical light in a given frequency
range (that was the intended evolutionary goal of creating the sensation of
redness)".

We tried to explain what is happening. The optical system from the retina
to the vision processing regions of the brain is processing information in
a very nonlinear and complex way. Most of the time this information is
indeed light in a given frequency range that is transformed in a series of
spike trains that is the code for "I perceive red" actually probably better
"red perceived" without a subject of I. At a point, higher levels of
integration and information processing are involved like the pre-frontal
cortex that includes the sense of I. This is when the brain goes from "red
perceived"  to "I'm experiencing redness". Notice I tried to use your
preferred definition of redness as a subjective experience and I used red
to indicate the frequency range of light. Also, this is not necessarily
done using words (even if the higher regions do use words) but some "code",
some "label" that in the case of redness is an experience. The brain
orchestrates the experience to alert the system of something. What else
could it do, send you an email? Ask yourself this question over and over,
it is the secret to understand qualia. The only logical answer is that the
brain uses experience as its own internal code. It can act on the body and
on itself, redness is a sort of message. These messages can be wrong in
terms of what they tried to communicate.

The visual system made a mistake because there is no red in the original
signal (the presence of physical red) but because the visual system uses
complex filtering, light level comparison, hue gradations, the context of
the objects perceived, different internal physiological states like
alertness or the presence of certain substances and so on, the usual
perception of red was triggered by conditions that had nothing to do with
the presence of external red. Given the sense of self has only what is
presented internally to it by the visual system it arrived at the wrong
conclusion which is perceiving redness. This redness is some higher level
firing pattern, a label, an alarm that the brain invented to represent "I
perceive red" that you call redness. It is like an alarm going off because
it detects steam instead of carbon dioxide given this alarm system is so
complex and sophisticated that made it is susceptible to this mistake (it
is very sensitive but not robust, I know fire alarms do not work that way
but it is just an analogy).

Do not focus on the particular words I use but on the concepts that I'm
trying to deliver, that is the main difference between our styles of
communication. Explain the processes, explain the interactions, cause, and
effect, and then we will understand better what you try to communicate
instead of using the same jargon and words to talk about "qualities",
"knowledge", and "inverters" that nobody really understands what the
supposed meaning is.
