[ExI] Elon Musk, Emad Mostaque, and other AI leaders sign open letter to 'Pause Giant AI Experiments'

Giulio,
It is a bad idea per se. Eventually we would look at proposals like these
and say "how idiotic this was". If anything AI would save life and help us
extend lives. We lose 100 K people every single day to aging and disease
for non-existent god sake. That is more death than any war ever caused but
nobody (with the exception of few us that understand these issues) cares.
AI would help us in solving aging and many other problems. Stopping it or
slowing it down is actually the worst possible detrimental action we can
take in terms of what to do with AI. We could have had life changing AI
already if did the right investments long ago. Now finally there is a
meaningful phase transition in AI development and people want to stop this
just based on irrational fears and semi-religious preconceived ideas.
Enough with the luddites.
Giovanni
