This article discusses the good and bad points of AI companions.
They are obviously good companions, and improving. Unfortunately, the
bad points appear to be that AI companions are too good! They could
train people to find relationships with real people to be too annoying
and troublesome.
(Especially if the AI is housed in an attractive humanoid body).
The conclusion seems clear.
