This reminds me of a puzzle:

Would you rather eat chocolate that tasted like shit, or shit that tasted
like chocolate?

What makes it difficult is it puts one's mind up against their body. You
can choose a pleasant conscious experience (one that your body evolved a
reason to avoid, due to risk of harm). Or you can choose a (to your body)
harmless action that carries for your mind what I guess to be an unpleasant
experience.
