Plenty of people, particularly today's college students, realize that all of
humanity is immersed in an AI arms race.  There is a school of thought that
AI will not kill everyone, but will be a very capable servant, waiting for
orders.  I propose we call that philosophy the Jeeves camp, after Wooster's
brilliant but obedient manservant.  Those of that school of thought
understand that whoever gets the first human-level or superhuman-level AI
owns the planet.

There is no stopping this.  There is no slowing down either.
