[ExI] Is AI about to take off fast?

Darin, it just seems wrong: we in this forum have been discussing AI for over three decades (more than that really but I have only been reading it for 30 yrs) and yet… right when everything starts to happen, all the things we foresaw and discussed long ago are happening real time… we don’t know what to do.  We may have a few lame insights, but we don’t know what to do, any more than the rest of the yahoos who showed up last week.  All that insightful discussion, and we don’t know what to do.  Does anyone here know what the heck to do?
