That’s right, and that is what compelled me to buy into the long bet on the shutdown.  I have already made 8 cents a share:

There are good reasons why it is a bad idea to pass legislation along party lines.  That party has to own whatever passes that way, such as the current health insurance system, which is failing in the way the opposition party predicted 17 years ago.
