After all we have heard and said about renewable energy sources,
particularly in Europe, this simple ring chart tells the story in the fewest
words.

 

About 2.5% of power worldwide is hydro, about 5% all other renewables
combined:

 



 

It isn't that much, yet.  World power production is still 87%
carbon-burning.
