Thank you, spike, that was fun. And a good exercise for Thanksgiving. We
are not starving.

Now it's time for *me* to go work with potatoes. :)

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.

Regards,

MB

Thanks MB!

Regarding potatoes: It is almost 0500 over here on the west coast. I peeled
mine (for 11 adults) starting about an hour ago.

Many younger people (MB for instance) may be unaware that potato peels are
bad to clog sinks and drains, because they are sticky. I wasn't aware of
this until I did it. It was a long time ago, 40 years. But... now I know
to not do stuff like that. In our fortunate and prosperous times, many no
longer do their own food processing in the home. I only do so to any great
extent twice a year, and you can likely guess when those occasions are.

I also don't like peeling potatoes indoors. Reason: the starchy
particulates go aerosol, and that sticks to stuff in the kitchen, which
makes lint particles in the air stick to that, and makes the surfaces get
dirty faster.

It was too cold this year to peel the potatoes outdoors. My solution: fill
the sink and peel the potatoes underwater.

I never heard of anyone doing that. But hey it works.

Note the color of the water. This is what the starchy particulates from
about 2 dozen potatoes will do if a prole peels the potatoes underwater:

That brown color is all the starch that isn't on my cabinets.

I have lived in the same house for over 30 years, so I pay attention to this
kind of thing.

Best wishes and happiness to all who are celebrating gratitude on this
festive day. Always maintain an attitude of gratitude, for it is a powerful
emotion that comes easily to those of us who love technology: we have come
so far so fast.

MB, may your holidays be fulfilling, healthy and happy.
