I'm watching it, on your recommendation, but can't say I'm impressed so
far (episode 4).

They seem to be getting a lot of things wrong, in my view, including
what I call the Disembodiment Fallacy and 'separable emotion', but maybe
that's deliberate and at least some of it will be sorted out later on,
so I'll keep watching it. Don't really like animated film, but I can put
up with that for now.

There's a programme called "Upload" on Amazon which, while quite
unimaginative, at least doesn't suffer from the same problems. There's
still an evil corporation of course, but you can pretty much take that
for granted in any fiction. Got to have a Bad Guy, or there's no story.

I thought that 'Transcendence' wasn't a bad effort at depicting
uploading, although the film was disappointing in the end.

When I've finished watching Pantheon (or given up on it), I'll post my
verdict.

Does anyone have any other uploading-related TV programmes or films
they've seen, and opinions about them? Entertainment plays a big part in
shaping public perception (look at the Terminator films, and how often
they're cited when talk turns to AI dangers), it might be a good idea to
have an overview of what's currently available, and the general attitude
being promoted.
