Just yesterday the following happened:
Team Blue got to say: VOTE, open now or stay closed?
Result: 45 votes to open 55 to stay closed…

Ja, I saw that. The price of the long marches are going out of sight: 39 cents a share this morning, owwwww. Still in profit range and I might jump back in, but if anything, team red is losing ground, which means the fed may stay “closed” indefinitely. What we don’t yet know is if anyone will notice.

Something that WILL be noticed however is that the federal deficit will drop dramatically which will be a highly popular change. A lot of Washington people will vacate and go look for jobs elsewhere. The highly crowded DC area will be filled with real estate opportunities, from freshly available apartments and office space, right down there where the action isn’t anymore, but was at one time. Oh the possibilities are endful! (Distressed vacated property has a lot of profit potential in it (because it is suddenly affordable.))

That notion is longer and more complicated than OPEN NOW. Team red holds the shorter slogan advantage. They recognize this and the accumulating effects. The only way they lose in the long run is if voters grow to like the notion of continuing the shutdown forever. This too is a possibility.

Welcome back, John. You bring a perspective which benefits all at the party.
