BillK, a critically important message for today is that you don't need to be a tech billionaire to build a nuclear-proof bunker.

I will certainly grant that if one owns a ton of money, yours might be a lot better than what I can build with my paltry not-billions, but a feller can still have a bunker, some food and ammo, have at least a chance of surviving a month or two after the first radioactive ash begins to settle like beta-emitting snow.
