This doesn't bother me, because a clear understanding of the better choice,
and why it is a better choice, will be subjectively bound in, making the
better choice obvious and desirable.  What defines us, "whims and quirks"
are in the past, and will always define what we have been.  That doesn't
mean it can't change (or be re-emulated for old times sake...)
