Another reason to move would be survival. When your star starts making 
things uncomfortable, it would be a good idea to relocate to a nice 
comfy and stable red dwarf. So maybe Von Neumann probes would target red 
dwarfs, not G-type stars. Maybe they're not here because this is not a 
very desirable neighbourhood.
