I would say it is impossible for an average or a smart person to sort
out the facts from what passes as "news". Even if that person spent
every waking hour trying.  Consider Colin Powell, a very smart dude
with far more resources than we have, who was taken in by the stories
about Iraq and weapons of mass destruction we now know were false

As far as I know, the Chinese had no tariffs on American imports
before Trump. The same was true for Canada and Mexico under NAFTA.
On test of fact is stupid.  Stupid enough, and it is probably true.
Like the ICE raid that shut down the car plant in Georgia  8000 jobs
will never happen.
We deny China AI chips, and are surprised when they shut off rare
earth elements.
