Huge fan. Loved it.
It's very difficult to answer questions without spoiling things - the
concept and origin of the severance process, and its meaning and importance
to Lumon over and above an exotic form of corporate infosec gets /very/
thoroughly explored throughout s1 and especially s2.
You're in for a great ride.
