I think you could probably do that now.
They have things called AI Agents, which you can give a task to and it
will go off and rummage around in the internet, accumulating data and
following instructions. Some of them are capable of running for hours
until the tasks are complete.
I haven't used them myself, but I've read articles about people using them.
