Let it be said, with SpaceX's post-IPO price drop, Musk is no longer a
trillionaire - and arguably never actually was: he wasn't selling his
shares in the period where they would have gained that much money.

That said, his skills as an engineer (and engineering manager) aren't
what made most of his money. His skills at getting other people to
pay a high price for what he paid a low price appear to be the primary
source of his wealth; those skills aren't that uncommon, but he
appears to have gotten lucky in exercising them.

And I would NOT have created DOGE and made a fool of myself by claiming it would save the government $2 TRILLION A YEAR when it ended up doing little except to increase the stockpile of government chaos, which we already had a sufficient amount of.

Musk was not a trillionaire in 2022 and way back then $44 billion was real money; if instead he had used that money for AI research then today Grok would not be an also ran in the rapidly accelerating AI race and the man would be a multi-trillionaire. Instead poor old Musk is barely a trillionaire and all he got from that 44 billion was an outdated platform that's full of lunatic conspiracy theories, lethal medical advice, and neo-Nazis.
