And that was not the situation Dr. Fauci was presented with.  He was
presented by people who did not care about the facts and had admitted
they were trying to find something to convict him on.

Dr. Fauci has discussed the matter at length in situations where he
was not under such threat.  Alas, the explicit threat of prosecution
has rendered him unable to freely continue participating in the
discussion, so anything further he alone knows that he has not yet
shared may be forever a secret now.  Blame the ones who shifted the
focus away from finding the truth (without punishment, focusing
instead on helping prevent a recurrence) to punishing their perceived
enemies (regardless of the truth).

If you must punish someone, it seems pretty evident that the truly
responsible people are in China - including those officials who tried
to keep a lid on the outbreaks, and concealed early data.  But Sen.
Paul apparently believes he can't reach into China, not even with the
help of those in China who were hurt by this.
