I suspect this gets back to the old line about "one small, limbless or
prosthetic-limbed woman, to save every single kg  possible".

...which is then sometimes followed up with, "and either pregnant, or
travelling with preserved sperm to become pregnant after reaching the
destination".

It's like an AI-grade deviation from the actual purpose of the
mission, optimizing certain attributes solely because they can be
optimized and impact mission feasibility, but these arguments have
been around since well before modern LLMs.
