I wouldn't be so sure.

Thinking about our track record so far, I'd be more inclined to say that I sort of doubt that AIs would wipe out humanity unless they were unable, or unwilling, to be really, really compassionate and forgiving, and thought that giving us a second chance was actually worth the bother.
