*Gmail is a medium because nobody decides what you will or will not see on
it. TwitterX is a news source because somebody does. The New York Times is
a new source too but there is a difference. The editor of the New York
Times is very seldom in the news, but the richest man in the world often
is; and it's not important if my worldview of the editor of the Times
corresponds with reality, but it is important that my worldview of the
world's richest man does. You get your news from **TwitterX so the only
place you see anything unflattering about Elon Musk is right here. By
contrast I get my News from many different sources so it's not surprising
that you have a much more favorable opinion of the world's richest man than
I do.*
*> It is a place where true stuff can be found*
*Even if it's not outright forbidden, like any criticism of the world's
richest man is, the TwitterX algorithm can make it almost impossible to
find some things unless you know just what you want and know how to exactly
describe it; it's designed so its primary responsibility is not to show you
things that you want to see but to show you things that Elon Musk wants you
to see. And as a result **TwitterX is a cesspool full of neo-Nazis,
idiotic conspiracy theories, and lethal medical advice. *
*By the way, it appears that He Who Must Not Be Named is indeed Bored With
Peace because I just found out that the US is now at war with Iran; he
wants to "obliterate" that country's capacity to make nuclear bombs even
though he said he had already "obliterated" that capacity 6 months ago. And
just a few hours before the war started He Who Must Not Be Named decreed
that the AI company Anthropic that makes Claude will be designated "a
supply chain risk" meaning that not only will Anthropic be unable to do any
business with the US government, no other company that uses any **Anthropic
product will be able to do **any business with the US government either.
Foreign companies have been declared a supply chain risk before but this is
the first time in history a US company has. *
*You Know Who is mad because **Anthropic won't sell a version of Claude to
the military that lacks the guard rail that prevents it being used for
wholesale spying on the US population, or controlling a lethal weapon
without a human being somewhere in the command chain. **The president
claims he would never dream of doing either of those things, but some
reason he insists on having that ability anyway. **Some woke ultra liberal
radical left wing commie sympathizers will claim those might not not be
very wise decisions, but I'm sure you will very soon read on TwitterX why
both those things were wonderfully good ideas.*
