The notion that the US and China are the AI players that matter understates Israel.  Like the USA but unlike most of the world, Israel underplays its military capabilities and does not tell everything it knows.  

 

We are told the US supports Israel because it is the only true democracy in the middle east.  However, it is unclear in our times how dedicated to democracy is the USA.  It is definitely dedicated to profit however, and Israel has some of the world’s most advanced software developers, particularly in military applications.
