Adrian, you are the one who introduced me to the concept, back in about 2010.  I didn't think at the time that the performance specs were anywhere near good enough to get to orbit with those things, but now I am not sure it wouldn't work.  The local rocket club was using those accelerometers to do their competitions.  Deetz available on request.
