Add an appropriate-power-level heater to the robot hand.

do."  But not said, of course.

> or the intuitive understanding a human nurse has when a patient is hiding their pain.

I wonder how long it will be before AIs get trained on measurements
and perceptions of patients who are hiding pain vs. those who are not,
so as to tell the difference.  Granted, this is a far more complex
pattern than most of the patterns that AIs are being used for today.
