Samantha!  How the heck have you been?  And where the heck have you been?  We haven’t heard from you in how long?  Years?  

 

Regarding the Great Filter, you may be right, but I have the notion that these considerations sometimes, or perhaps often, wipe out technological civilizations, but not always.  I call this notion the Fairly Good Filter theory.
