We aren’t punishing the Iranians John.  We are trying to save them.  We are trying to save Israel as well.

 

I don’t think it will go on much longer.  Their currency is now worth less than three percent what it was on New Years Day 2026:

They will overthrow their tyrannical theocratic government, save themselves and the Israelis.  Slightly bad part: it will get that cheap Iranian oil flowing again, which will kill alternative energy projects, but we have seen this movie before.  Life goes on.

Sounds to me like a deal where they secretly refine uranium.

It didn’t flop.  The USA is blockading Iranian oil but the world economy still grew at a respectable 2.6% rate.  Alternative energy projects have a better chance of attracting capital.  We can survive without buying that oil.  But Iran cannot survive without selling it.
