The average price of Diesel so far in 2026 is now above the 2022 average:

Well, not really.  Those numbers don’t take into account inflation in those years.  But it is getting up to near what it was four years ago.  The 2026 average might break thru the 2022 average.

 

Meanwhile, back in Iran:

Their currency is worth about 2.5% what it was a year ago.  Diesel here costs half again what it did a year ago.  There, Diesel is probably nearly free: they have plenty of that.  But everything else, up by a factor of 40 from a year ago.
