The alternative to cutting the federal budget is the federal budget will cut us.  

 

The fed will get to the point where it cannot borrow money.  Then not just the DoE and the Forest Service but the Department of Everything must go.  The Federal government will be only administering Social Security, Medicare and paying debt.  Nothing else.

 

Now of course this doesn’t figure in what AI will do.  AI might kill everybody.  If it does, I won’t worry about it anymore.  Ever.  But if it doesn’t….  the USA faces grave danger.
