Spike may quibble on this, so I'll state the counterpoint less argumentatively:

Technically, the term "impeachment" only refers to what the House
does.  The Senate has no part in it until after the impeachment
happens.

The Senate may confirm the impeachment and remove the President from
office.  This is technically separate and distinct from the
impeachment itself.  It is this latter portion that has yet to happen,
not the impeachment itself.
