It isn’t that WE need two Dakotas.  The Dakotans need two Dakotas.  John what you should be doing is figuring out a way to force states to merge.  Then make sure it isn’t your state.

They aren’t 70 times more powerful, for there aren’t very many of them.  Note that Wyoming has three EC votes, but California gets 54.

Sure but you almost make that sound like a bad thing.

 

Consider another take on your conservative/liberal notion and ask yourself why it is that Wyoming is the way it is and California is the way it is.  We traditionally think of the terms conservative and liberal in reference to one’s attitude toward change.  That kinda works, but I would propose a different way.  The political needs of a population are related to population density.  Where populations are very dense, they tend to be liberal.  Otherwise conservative.

 

So really when we think of the perpetual political struggle between liberal and conservative, it really is the political needs of the rural vs urban.  Of course the rights of the rural people must be protected for they produce our food.  I like food.  John, do you like food?  So do we.
