No one took up my wager of 100i respectars on the record for the latest
first hurricane of the season, so I will hafta content myself with existing
imaginary supply, plus my self-respectars.  

 

The years 1984, 2002 and 2013 all had their first hurricane of the season on
11 September of those years.  Today is the fifth of September.  NOAA expects
no cyclone activity during the next seven days, which takes us out to 12
September, which means 2026 will likely break the record for those years
starting in 1960, when the first weather satellite was launched.  Cool!  Now
we get to see by how much the new record exceeds the previous ones.
