This is the place for power discussions, which is what my post was about.  You were reading politics into it.  I would argue that all wind farms belong on land.  Otherwise you are fighting the boat people (more and more of those, with ever greater influence, as we get collectively richer and can afford stuff like that) you fight the whale people (more and more of those too) and the bird people (way more of those now) and you fight the shore people who want to view only open sea out there.  So put the turbines on land, not close to population centers but close enough to supply emergency power to a big city.

Of the data centers going in, I know of none which are building wind energy to power them.  Do you know of any?  New data centers are required to bring their own power source so as to not run up the cost of power to the neighbors.  The local one is running on natural gas.  

 

Wind and solar are not as well suited for AI as is coal, natural gas and nuclear, because of unpredictable intermittency, but they have a role.  If data centers are located in sparsely populated areas, all five power generation methods can be collocated.  When the sun is shining and the wind is blowing, we can reduce the other generation methods, with the advantage that the wind and solar do not require water.
