Of course it is.  But wind power is still poorly suited for running a data center.  Those must supply their own power.  The capital is in the GPUs.  They don’t tolerate intermittency or unpredictability.  Result: data centers as far as I know are not installing wind power.  Solar maybe.  Wind, no.

John, wind power has its uses.  But it is generally not well suited for data centers.  You need steady reliable power for that purpose, because GPUs are too expensive and perish too quickly to let them sit idle waiting for the wind to blow.  

 

That wind farm (for which you mourn its passing) was not for a data center, it was for the local proletariat.  Data centers may not compete with that, or drive up local power costs.  Shutting down that wind farm out there didn’t delay the development of an American AI which might kill everybody.
