On the contrary.  He is stating an astonishing conviction that a government cannot sustain spending more than it takes in.  John, is that really such a mentally unstable position?

Yes, John, for we must face the risk that AI will not kill everybody.  If it doesn’t then what?  I don’t know either, but it will be very bad.  Well OK, better than if AI does kill everybody, but still very bad.
