<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have actually had a (recently neglected) home
built STM project in my garage that has been there for a few years now. I
have designs, although I am missing a few key specifications on some of the
parts. Specifically the oscilloscope, the diodes and the piezoelectric element
(which only requires one). Although there are methods of prevention in my crude
schematic, even if this design was to be accomplished there would still be some
vibrational stabilization issues. There is no rush for me to figure these
problems out right now. I would like one day to return my focus on this project
however right now my attention is on 3D animation. At any rate, you still have a
whole day to ship my AFM! : ) Gina`</FONT></DIV>

all,<BR>><BR>> Gina--would you mind a "some

<BR>><BR>Atcually there is a much simpler and cheaper STM design. I'm
currently <BR>trying to buikd it. It's based on a<BR>"unimoph" piezo element
which costs $2.00. This replaces the three <BR>expensive piezo elements in the
Muenster design.<BR><BR>So far, my cost is still below $500, including the

I have made some simple modifications.<BR><BR>Unfortunately, while STMs and

possible to extend <BR>it to permit multiple probes to operate<BR>on the same
