I thought Second World, or at least Russian, life expectancy was falling,<br>actually. I don't know if this is from old numbers having been inflated, loss<br>of the Soviet health system, or stress/loss-of-status factors.

I don't know what the sign of the difference is compared to, say, 1996;
but I don't think anyone's in any doubt about what it is compared to,
say, 1936.<br>
