<P>I'm *not* poly myself -- it's not a persuasion for those of us who suck at multitasking -- but I live in the SF Bay Area, and it's actually sort of weird for me at this point to think of polyamory as anything other than a "normal relationship structure variation".  </P>

<P>The poly folks I know span the whole spectrum of preferences and predilections, and while I don't doubt that common human hypocritical prejudice exists in the poly community (as it does in every community), there's no doctrine demanding that anyone who wants to call themselves poly cedes their right to have individual preferences.  </P>

<P>(From what I've observed, poly people almost seem to spend more time negotiating and talking about boundaries -- and dealing with other communication-related issues -- than they do being, er, amorous!)</P>
