</div><br>Indeed. <br><br>Survival instinct is entirely about the gene whisper. Face to situations where such whisper has little to say, all depends from the metaphor one chooses to adhere to.<br><br>What can be said for sure is that face to, say, the generalised availability of teleport, those still willing to wait in lines at an airport out of the argument that by going through the process you are killed, and that the copy subsequently created at destination is of little consolation for their former self, will be quickly ranged in the ranks of weirdoes.<br>
<br>The same applies to whether uploads or persuasive, albeit artificial, personas, are really "conscious" or not, etc.<br><br>Sociology has often a way to resolve for good what philosophy per se could never decide.<br>
