</span>I only quoted a few paragraphs. What he is saying is that all the<br>
earlier civilisations in the galaxy would have reached the same point<br>
as us. i.e. Becoming the first tech civ on their planet. And then they<br>
disappeared. (as we see no trace of them).<br>
