The middle school STEM Fair people specify no experiments with beasts of any kind, no fleas, no goldfish, nothing that has a face. It isn’t clear to me that a snail has a face, but it could be argued that it does. The eyeballs are out there on… proboscis of some kind, don’t know what you call them, but they would say it is a no-go. OK how about an earthworm? It isn’t clear that has a face.
