We can do with higher priced Diesel for a while, long enough to crank up our own oil production and Diesel refinement capacity. Higher Diesel prices enables alternatives, such as wind and solar power, which enables technologies such as Tesla’s electric semi trucks, which are better suited for making self-driving. Once a lot of those self-driving electric semis are rolling around the clock, never needing to stop other than to swap out batteries, the pay for driving a Diesel truck will drop dramatically, freeing up the Diesel fuel for passenger cars, trains and stationary electric power generation. We don’t need commie Diesel fuel.

spike
