--That is a pretty "iffy" idea, isn't it. It's
especially frightening at a time when the national
psychology is dominated by punishment and retribution.
Watch any reality show, the theme is "elimination".
The shows that center on reconciliation or growth
involve people swapping places with other people, the
basis of all empathy. Perhaps those who are currently
safe will only understand what is going on when they
feel unsafe. Perhaps those who are unsafe need help,
if not from the government, then from the churches
that pay lip service to Christ.
